[PLEASE READ] Save Game Corruption

So if we bring the size of our saves down and lower the rental amounts we have, the corruption will still not stop on that current save? Or have other simmers been able to get the corruption to pause after making alterations?

No. Once this error takes hold, your current save file is a goner. The lot corruption will eventually spread from lot to lot, from world to world. I rebuilt a save based on my last one and had the same issue. I'm now on my third save, which I built with fewer rental lots (I think I only have 1-2 rental lots in the entire save) and that seems to have prevented the corruption for now.

So frustrating that we would even have to consider these as options. I'd love to play the game as intended.

Yes. It’s not an easy fix but I did not want to delete any of my 727 played Sims so what I did was to go back to a clean save file where there was no lot corruption and deleted about 40 of my Sims houses (the one’s I did not build from scratch but I made major additions once i downloaded them from the gallery) and then just left my sims sitting on empty lots. Then I used MCCC to move in the Sims that no longer had houses with the sims that still had houses. I tried to keep families/related sims together as much as possible. Now most of my houses (about 45 across all worlds except Nordhaven) have sims ranging in number from the game limit 8 to some houses having up to 24. I have been playing like this since last December without any major issues except for lag in the houses that have higher numbers of sims but this goes away after the game has run for a few minutes. I don’t think I will ever go back to having only 8 sims per household because the game for me has been more enjoyable with more sims in a house and making changes that don’t require going into cas are actually easier because you can make changes to all 24 at once instead having to go through loading screens to go to 3 different houses to access 24 sims. I also have 4 small houses where I can move 8 sims in at once temporarily if I need to make changes to alot of sims in full edit cas mode. Once I finish making the changes, I move them back using MCCC to houses I moved them from. Even if they fix the game by expanding the memory capacity to hold more objects, I will still have some homes that will always have more than 8 sims because it provides more flexibility to play the game in different ways. However, I wish EA would come out with a version of Sims for players like me that have powerful PC’s that could play the game with more sims and large houses. Right now, EA is limiting players like myself who have purchased every DLC except the Businesses and Hobbies expansion pack from buying more content because the game (not my PC) can’t handle any more content. In comparison, I have no problems playing Inzoi or City Skylines 2 on the same PC with all of the settings maxed out for those games. EA has to invest in increasing the Sims memory capacity in order to eliminate this save corruption problem completely so no one ever has to worry about again.
