[Lovestruck] Rotational players, please beware "Romantic satisfaction decay"
If you played with many households/families in your save (rotational players), did you ever have an issue that "romantic satisfaction" (Ex, [Sim1] romantic feeling about [Sim2]) dropped to be "Very Unsatisfied" even if it was neutral or better before. That is because Romantic satisfaction can decay in both active and inactive households. Just do nothing about love can finally make their relationship bitter. Like this... Why do they look sad? This is the reason. I haven't played the Laurent household before, and this couple didn't have a bitter relationship before as well. But now, not only this couple, every couple that is generated after installing Lovestruck pack will be like this after you play the game for over a week. (I mean, if you start a new save after having this pack --> every couple will be affected) ---- This "Unsatified" will make a sad moodlet to them and make them sad. And it's really bad that you can't stop every couple's decay without mod. (Glad that there is a mod, I will mention later.) This would be so much trouble for the rotational player! ---- However, this seems to be related to another issue... "Too many "Lovestruck" couples everywhere!" This issue I opened discussion here --> https://forums.ea.com/discussions/the-sims-4-feedback-en/too-many-lovestruck-couples-everywhere/4958170 I want to prove my speculation about the reason why the game with Lovestruck EP keeps spawning couples to the lot (and mostly sit on the bench to look at the sky). And then I found that... this might be the system to solve the Romantic Satisfaction decay. The way this system solves the issue is... to make them improve the Romantic Satisfaction while being a background NPC. Without a mod to prevent them, players who have Lovestruck will be many couples doing romantic things while being the lot. Most of them are "sky gazing". I wonder if these interactions will help fix their unsatisfied romantic feelings or not. The answer is... YES. From "Very Unsatisfied" before they appeared in the park as background lover... To be "Unsatisfied" the next day when I recheck them. ---- So, I believed that the game uses this system to keep NPC couples still being satisfied with romantic feelings, while the game has a decay system for every sim in the game. If you prevent "Lovestruck couples" in the lot, the outcome will be "everyone will be very unsatisfied." This is a very bad method to deal with, in my opinion. Inactive couples' satisfaction shouldn't decay too quickly like this. It's impossible to manage every family if you're rotational players! And to fix by using many couples invading the neighborhood isn't a good solution! ------------- Fortunately, there is a mod to fix this "decay". Lovestruck: Romantic Satisfaction: No Time Decay by Lumpinou https://www.patreon.com/posts/mod-per-request-109503418 This mod will remove decay completely, including active household. So, you can play rotation with peace. And even a single household player won't worry that NPC couples will be sad with the decay they can't prevent. **I haven't tested myself yet because I found out today, but I think it will work** (There is a mod for stopping decay only in inactive households, but it's in the mod hub that seems to require making an account, so I won't mention) -------------- That's all I know for now. Sorry for such a long post. I want to share this because I don't like to have couples invade the community lots but I don't want them to be sad because "satisfaction decay" as well. I may misunderstand something because this is just my observation. I'm not the modder, so I don't know any code deeper than what can be shown in "MCCC" and "Show Sim Info" mod. I just found out that in order to sell anything in this DLC, it must be placed on the provided shelving units. I own Get to Work, and in that pack you can mark items for sale regardless of what they're placed on. Why is this not possible here? I specifically bought this DLC to sell repaired electronics, handmade furniture, and similar items. I’m extremely disappointed that such a basic feature—selling items—is this restricted. There are so many crafting and repair activities in the game now, but they don’t work with the business features of this DLC. What’s the point of adding all this content if we can’t even sell it properly? Please fix this. These are not something that I think should be acted on immediately as theres a lot more to be worked on in other areas of the game before getting new stuff in my opinion, but even so i have a few stuff/game pack ideas! Firstly, Sports! I think it would be really nice to have a pack that adds some big sport items into the game such as tennis courts, volleyball courts, golf and stuff like that, it could also be a chance for more cute workout CAS items to be added, which i think are kind of lacking. Secondly, Bands! I know a lot of people have been asking for this and it's for good reason! I try to make fake bands a lot in my gameplay, usually by just creating a group from get together, but its hard to get everyone to play at the same time especially when your bandmates are in other households, I think it'd be really fun if there was some kind of set "stage" item like how it is in The Sims 3 Showtime, where you can set what instruments every sim plays in the band and have them practice/ perform a song together, there could be tie-in with the get famous fame system and some cool stuff with having to work on your bands relationship to be good or it'll break up, also the stage could have various options of a more garage band practice style stage to a big rock band performance stage and all the things inbetween. This pack could also obviously add new instruments such as drums, saxophone, electric guitar and way more. I feel like it'd make sense for the vibe to focus on a kind of smalltown rock band aesthetic for CAS and build/buy because I think thats what most people envision when you say bands, but of course sims could have any music genre they want. Thirdly, Arcades! When I got the new businesses and hobbies pack one of my first ideas for a business was a cute arcade for my sims to visit as its something ive always wanted to have, but theres only really one 'arcade' machine type item which is super big and i couldn't really find anything else that fit my idea, i tried to put a tv with a console, voidcritters and the vr game mats but it just didn't work, i think it'd be cute to have a fun stuff pack (Or it could even be just a kit I suppose...) that adds arcade machines and other stuff that fits in with that, pool tables, slot machines, maybe even a prize counter! Complete with the iconic arcade carpet and 80s themed build/buy/cas i think it'd be a super fun pack that would be fun for children-elders, there could even be something for toddlers? Business and Hobbies is an amazing pack, and many of my sims families have their own businesses. That said, it would be nice to now have a financial tracker per sim. This will help when splitting funds and investing in other things for multiple working sims in a household. As of now, all money earned goes into the family funds, which is fine. However, this also makes it difficult to keep track of which sim made how much money, and what and how much they can invest and buy. Currently I do this manually, and its a pain, and I often miss things. For example, I have a teen sim who makes royalties off of music tracks, as well as works part time in her fathers tech store. She would like to save up money to move out and then invest in her own dj/club business one day. It would be nice to not have to manually keep track of all funds she has made/contributed to the family funds. I would like to keep it realistic when she moves, working her way through her own hard work. Currently, while Neighborhood Stories allows for some changes like having babies, adopting, retiring, and moving in or out etc. there are a few important features missing that would help families grow and evolve naturally. Here are some features I would love to see added: ▪️Marriage: Sims should be able to marry autonomously, even if the player is not controlling their household. This would allow families to continue expanding without the player’s direct involvement. ▪️Divorce: Sims should be able to autonomously divorce if their relationship status changes. This would allow for more realistic family dynamics. ▪️Moving Out & Creating New Households: Teens and young adults should have the option to leave their households and create their own households, even without player intervention. This would allow Sims to continue to live their own lives, meet new Sims, and start their own families. ▪️Joining Another Household: Sims should be able to join other households, either through marriage or through other life changes. This could give rise to new family combinations and interactions. These additions would help make Neighborhood Stories more dynamic and allow Sims to live fuller lives without the player constantly managing every household. Sims could form relationships, start families, and grow old without needing direct control, allowing for organic development of family trees and more immersive storytelling. I've started blocking people on the gallery, that preach about in-game honestly, while lying about their own work, and post sims (or lots) on the gallery with the title 'Basegame' when they obviously have cc, sliders and-or mods used. Some many think it's silly, but it's super annoying to me. I was hoping by blocking them I would stop seeing their stuff, but it didn't work. It's almost impossible to raise a big family in farm. When you have small children and animals in farm, game is so challenging. Cow, llama, Horse, Sheep, Goat and Hen hunger, attention and hygine needs should decay slower at least 2-3x times slower. I would like to see a variety of large beds added to the game. By large bed I mean one that can sleep three or four. I have a large family, including pets, and there just should be room for everyone. It makes my sim's husbands cranky to always have someone sleeping on the couch and the cats get rather disgruntled when they have to get off the bed so people can sleep. I have pet beds around the bed but they do not want to sleep on them. Help me out EA! I mean it is kind of your fault that I have these problems :) Oh, and can you please also make beds upgradeable energy and comfort wise. There are so many cool beds but I rarely use anything but the best because they replenish energy faster. It sucks because I want to use other beds and not have every sim family I play have all the same looking houses and furniture. I do not think this is an unreasonable request. For sure it can add in additional gameplay when it comes to handiness. My sims can buy parts to upgrade all kinds of things so you could add in a new part and upgrade option on all the beds. Or take the woodworking bench away and make carpentry a profession. I say this because I have at least one sim I can think of who is rather snobbish and doesn't want to be handy or crafty. I guess what I mean to say is this, and I will use handiness as an example. Sims can learn to be handy but I think there should also be an option under "hire services", in which my sim could call and pay an NPC to come do upgrades on their house and furniture. And for the love of the game please, please add in being able to hire dog walkers and pet groomers. My butler REFUSES to pick up piles of cat hair. My sim brushes the cat a lot but apparently it isn't often enough. She does not have time with a job, two husbands and three children to brush the darn cat anymore. And the family doesn't have a dog because the dogs are always so unhappy about not getting walked enough. And before someone says it, I know there is a mod that I can use to do that but it doesn't work that well. Aaaah which reminds me.... Gates and doors. Part of the problem with the dog walking mod is my locking security. My family is famous and keeping people out is a real chore. So I lock it up and allow household only, block all pets because I find they get sick more often if they can wander. The dogs can't run away because they're unhappy about not being walked if they can't get out too. However, if I invite people over, the gate still blocks them even if they are invited. I give a good friend a key to the residence and they cannot get in part the gate security. I throw a party and the guests can't get in unless I unlock the gate. During that time the paparazzi, neighbors, stans and whoever else wants to annoy my sims can get in. It just isn't fun so I don't find myself doing the things that I want to do because everything is such a pain in the rear when I do. This is all I have for now. I am sure there is more but these things are what impact my every day gameplay and would make things so much more fun if they were implemented. I don't know if this is the best place to make requests so if there is a better place do let me know. I think The Sims 4 needs new hair colors and improves the genetics system for hair inheritance. Currently, even the horses have more swatches than Sims, and hair color inheritance is very limited—children can only inherit their parents' exact hair colors, with no variation beyond that. It would be great if hair genetics worked similarly to eye color, where traits can mix and lead to more natural variations like you can get green eyes when parent has hazel eyes. For example, a child of black-haired parents could have dark brown hair, or a child of light brown-haired parents could have dark blonde hair. Shades of auburn and copper could also transition into richer or lighter versions instead of being strictly limited to the parent's exact color. This change would add more realism and diversity to families, preventing the hair color system from feeling too repetitive. [Edit 2024-10-10 -> Adding the pic which represents the topic name better] I knew there was a similar discussion. However, I haven't found any discussion about this issue about "everywhere" yet. So, I start a new one with the information from my testing with my saved file. (Disclaimer: My save is modded, has MCCC, and has "Show Sim Info" to get info.) I visited a park in Chestnut Ridge and found a couple named Roswell who live in Strangerville. It's so lovely, isn't it? But there are some strange things about this. If you have Strangerville GP, you will know that... Townies who live in Strangerville "rarely" spawned outside their world. Some places have exceptions about region limits such as restaurants, bowling lots (team members with uniforms), gossipers in Finchwick Fair, etc. You can't find them appearing outside without a special role. Then I have evidence that it's a Lovestruck (EP16) issue. I used the "Show Sim Info" mod to see the name of their role and found this (red underline). This can make sure that they are spawned by the game to have a date. In another try that I played for a longer time, after a few minutes, the game spawns at least 3 couples. I saw from other players that it can reach 4 couples too. About my personal opinion. It would be cute and lovely if it's only 1-2 couples and has the more rare chance to appear such as 10-20% or 50% at most. It shouldn't be every time like the current situation. They should respect the region-limited rule if it exists. And they shouldn't appear in the place they shouldn't be such as temple ruins in Selvadorada. I think it would be better to give "EP16NPC_VenueDate" sims in a specific place to make it more special. Why don't they appear mostly in Ciudad Enamorada, the city of love? I wouldn't complain if it's like that. You can spawn as many lovers as you want in the city of love! Or I think it can be like "The Festival of Light" in Mt. Komorebi where couples from every world are spawned. It should be a collab with Seasons EP's Love Day too. I wouldn't complain much if the couple is spammed on this holiday. (But please don't give "situation outfit" to them cruelly lol.) I don't mind about the same couple appearing again and again if it's for a more special situation. This time, I can't make up my mind to play the main save until there are some mods to fix this. (Sadly I can't disable this pack because I already use the new hairstyle from this EP in my main sims because it fits him perfectly. And I'm busy lately, so I can wait longer.) That's all! I don't save this process in my main save, but I am honestly happy with Roswell for having a lovely moment time during this short period, even in the Gym!
